Who We Are.
Be Galápagos is a travel agency created by Elizabeth Arboleda Cruz “Liz” who has been living on the Islands for more than ten years and has been working in tourism for over five years.
Liz comes from a family that have lived on the Galápagos Archipelago for more than a generation, and they now live on Floreana Island, which is one of the very first inhabited islands. Her grandfather Eliécer Cruz arrived on Floreana Island in 1939, he and his wife, Enma Bedón, started a family there. Liz´ mother, Lelia Cruz, (one of Eliécer’s children), came back from mainland Ecuador to the Islands to settle on Floreana.
Liz has extensive professional experience working in tourism and now wishes to share this with her clients by making a truly unique experience that allows them to live and feel the charm and magic of these Islands.
Part of this project is to create awareness for the care that these ecologically diverse islands require, therefore we aim to include as part of your activities, – ecological ones – such as: picking up plastic from the beaches we visit, lectures about conservation in schools, cycling to encourage the use of pedal bikes as a green option and we always welcome ideas you have to help this fragile paradise.
